100 Marathon Tutorial
As i have told you i will try to add a tutorial each day.
I will show you how to design a layout for a blog. Wordpress or any other blog system you want
Open a new document in photoshop.
Size: 760 x 770
Background color: d8d4c9
Select Rectangle Tool and create a simple shape with the following color: #bebbb1
Go To Layer > Rasterize > Shape
Then go to Select > Load selection ( a new window will appear - press OK )
You will see that you will have a selection around your shape
Click on the Create a New Layer icon to add a blank layer above your copied image layer, and then choose Edit > Stroke.
Use a fairly thick stroke width ( 6 pixel will be good ), and change the Location to Center.
For color i have used # aca9a1
Press CTRL+D to Deselect.
This is the result
Now we'll apply a filter to the stroke.
Go to Filter > Brush Strokes > Sprayed strokes and use the following settings
Then change the blending mode to Multiply
This is the result
Now we will make a new pattern
Download the following image on your computer, and open it in Photoshop
Then go to Edit > define pattern, Chose a name for you pattern and click ok
Now you can close the sand image. We will return to our layout.
Select the big shape
Then go to Layer > layer style > pattern overlay
use the following settings

Now please add some photos from your stock image colection. And with the rectangle tool create also a small shape
Now with the small rectangle selected go to Filter > Artistic > Rough Pastels
And use the following settings
Photoshop will ask you if you want to rasterize the shape. press yes
Next go to Filter > Brush Strokes > Spatter and use the following settings
Then change the layer blending mode to: Multiply

Now with the same technique i will add more rectangles, and i will apply the same filters as above

Now i will add some text
Now select one more time Type tool, and write some minus signs " ------- "
Duplicate the layer with minus signs and place it between your text
Now you can add also a text logo
Then you can add a filter also for this text logo
With "news blog" layer selected go to Filter > Brush Strokes > sprayed strokes ( press Ok when photoshop will ask you if you want to rasterize the type )
Use the following settings
Then change the layer blending mode to Multiply
This is the result
Then add another text on your header
Next you can add more text, and also more minus signs.
Here is my final result
