45 Flossy snow

Hello

This is the Tutorial number 45 from the 100 Marathon Tutorial
As i have told you i will try to add a tutorial each day.

Today i will show you how to add some flossy snow on your text logos

Open a new document with a black background ( 400 x 400 pixels will be fine )

Type some text and add the following layer styles:

Let's add a layer style for this white rectangles:











This is the result:



Hold the CTRL key down and press on the layer thumbnail



You will notice that you have selected all the text



Grab the Rectangular Marquee Tool
Select " Subtract from selection " and make a selection like in the next image



when you release the mouse button you will have only the top part of the text selected



Go to Select > Feather or press CTRL+ALT+D
Change the feather radius to 5 pixels and press OK



Move the selection with the up arrow key



Create a new layer ( press CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+N ) and fill your selection with white Then press CTRL+D to deselect your selection



Now add the following layer styles









This is the result:



If you want to add more details duplicate this layer ( press CTRL+J ) then change the Blending Mode , Opacity and Fill like in the next image
