Hello

I will show you today how to create a header for your web design company with a tech look

This is the Tutorial number 62 from the 100 Marathon Tutorial
As i have told you i will try to add a tutorial each day.

This is my final result:



Open a new document in photoshop.
Size: 800 x 200 pixels
Background: white

Set the foreground color to #01b9f5
Set the Background color to #006696

Create a new layer ( press CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+N )

Grab Gradient Tool and draw a line from the top to the bottom of your document



Create a new layer again ( press CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+N )

Select Elliptical Marquee Tool, and use this settings



Then create a simple selection on your header



Select Rectangular Marquee Tool, and use this settings



Then make a rectangle like in the next image



Now select one more time Elliptical Marquee Tool, Please use the following settings



And make the following selection on your header



This is the Result after i will release my mouse button



Select Paint Bucket Tool and fill your selection with White ( then press CTRL+D ) to deselect



Duplicate this layer ( press CTRL+J ) and resize this layer



Select Line Tool ( Set the weight to 1 pixel ), and make some lines like in the following image



Now select Ellipse Tool and make a small circle and place it like in the following image



Select Rectangle Tool , and make a small rectangle



With this layer selected, go to Edit > Transform > perspective , and use the following settings ( change the horizontal Skew to 30 )



Hit Enter. this is my result



Duplicate this layer a few times and place it with the Arrow keys like in the following image
To duplicate a layer you have to select first the layer , then press CTRL+J



Select all the layers , except the background layer and the layer above the background layer , then press CTRL+E ( this will merge all the layers )



Duplicate the merged layer and place it like in the next image



Select both Layers and duplicate them one more time,



Then go to Edit > Transform > Flip Horizontal
With a few times on your Right Arrow key until you place the layers like in the following image.
You can add also some text on your header



Now select one more time all the merged layers



Duplicate them ( drag all the layers to the " create new layer " button - from your layer palette

Select Move tool ( press V )
Then use the Alignment Buttons



This is my result:



Next step is to create another small details. for example i will grab Type Tool , and i will write some random text , with a small font



We will add now another details but first you need to create a pattern:

Now Create another document:


Zoom this document to 1600% and with the Pencil Tool Draw 3 points:



After that go to Edit > Define Pattern...
Choose a name for your pattern and press OK

Now let's come back to our header. Create a new layer ( press CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+N )

Select Paint Bucket Tool , Set the source for fill area to Pattern



then press one time on your new layer
This will be the result



Then Change the Blending mode to: " Soft light "



This is my final result.



I am sure you can make better. Now that you know some new techniques you can try alone

You could fix the bugs and publish the new vBulletin skin
and mabye start another marathon if you manage...
