but Button with metal border and 3D look

Hello

This is the third Tutorial from the 100 Marathon Tutorial
As i have told you i will try to add a tutorial each day.

A member of the forum asked me if i can make a button with a metal border.
It is very simple.

There are different methods for creating buttons. i will show you how to make a nice looking button only with a few layer styles

So let's start.

Open a new document. 400 X 400 px will be good ,( this is not important )
Then select Rounded Rectangle Tool and draw a simple button.

Now add the folowing layer styles:

And this is the final button. You can add text alone if you want, or you can leave the button empty so you can confuse your visitators from your own website

You can download the button if you want and you can see better the layer style.

I really enjoyed this tutorial and here is my outcome, it looks really nice and would look great if you used in some template such as a portfolio.

I think that would look better for a mouse over rather than constantly like that.

Nick/eased, if you make a simple tutorial on it for us that would be nice as some of us are trying to learn flash.

I wasn't thinking of flash, I was thinking of XHTML, JS & gif images.

flash is to bulky and is best not to use. The combination i just stated is the lightest and fastest Specially when you are just making a simple button roll over.

from my experience it is better to learn photoshop.
in flash you can make animations with the buttons you have created in photoshop or any other software.

before you want to start with flash you may try SWISH
