Futuristic / High Tech Logo

Hello

This is the Tutorial number 44 from the 100 Marathon Tutorial
As i have told you i will try to add a tutorial each day.

I will show you how to create a high tech logo

Open a new document in Photoshop ( 400 x 400 Pixels )

Select the Ellipse Tool and create a rounded Shape

Add the following layer styles:

This is the result:

Now rasterize this layer:
Layer > Rasterize > Shape

Select Line Tool ( set the weight to 3 pixels ) and draw some lines:
You cane use the same layer styles as above

Select Elliptical Marquee Tool ( use the following settings )

Select The first layer we have created ( Shape 1 )
Then with Elliptical Marquee Tool make a small circle like in the following image:

Be sure you have the Shape 1 layer selected and press "Delete" on your keyboard
This is the result: ( you can see that i have moved the selection above , because we will delete also on that part )

After i have deleted some parts of the initial shape this is my result:

Now make another selection with Elliptical Marquee Tool:

And the same with the Shape 1 selected press delete on your keyboard

Select Ellipse Tool and create a White circle in the middle of the logo:

Add the following layer styles for this white circle

Here is my result:

Now we will create a carbon fiber pattern

To create a new pattern please open a new document in photoshop ( 4 x 4 pixels )
Zoom this document to 1600 % and with the pencil tool create small dots with the colors you will see i the next image

Then Go to Edit > Define Pattern...
Chose a name for your pattern and press Ok

Close this document and let's go back to our logo

Create a new layer ( press CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+N )

Select Elliptical Marquee Tool and make a selection like in the next image:

Select Paint Bucket Tool ( Set Source for Fill area to Pattern , Chose the pattern we have created and press one time inside the selection )

This is the result:

Now add the following layer styles

This is the result

Duplicate this layer and place it on the bottom of the logo like in the following image

Select Custom Shape Tool and chose the following shape : Moon

Draw a moon on the logo:

With this layer selected press on Add Layer Mask

Select Gradient Tool and draw a line from Left to Right

Change the blending mode for the layer to " Overlay "

This is the result:

Create another moon shape on the other part of the logo:

press one more time on Add Layer Mask and with the Gradient tool draw a line from right to left
Do not forget to change the blending mode to Overlay

This is my logo:

I will place a letter on the middle of the logo:
I have use the following layer styles:

This is my result:

Now you can add another 3 small circles. You can use the same layer styles from above

I hope you will find this tutorial useful. The final result is not so important. I have created this logo to show you some nice techniques. I am sure you can better than me, and i will wait to see some results. Thanks
