Do I need Google?
Is Google that important for my business to be successful online? I only read articles about how online businesses depend so much on Google for their own sake. I wonder if there’s a way to avoid this search Engine and still be successful.

Personally, I feel that google is a key factor in the success of a lot of businesses, especially if they rely on being found by new customers online. Google, MSN and Yahoo are the three top search engines that most people use when searching for thing online. So having good ranking with PR and SERP is very important.

For now, there is no way to avoid Google. Of course, there are so many ways to be also successful online without ever benefiting from Google, but why change that something that works so far?

If you are using internet than I am sure directly or indirectly you are using Google. Because on internet world you cant simply avoid Google.
Google is now most respected and most happening company of this world.

Google is not important but yeah traffic from their search engine is quite important to you. Because traffic from search engine is targetted and you will be able to get more and more benefit from it. That's why people always go for SEO.

Regular user need Google to search their query and Webmaster need google to get the traffic from this. So in either side you need Google. But if you are living in some old age than yeah google computer internet these things are not made for you.

Google is dominating, and will continue to dominate, the internet market for a very long time.
In answer to your question, it is possible to succeed without utilizing the various uses of Google. There are still alternatives, for search engines there are Yahoo, Cuil and Microsoft. For adverts (I presume you were also talking about advertising) there are websites such as AdBrite and Bidvertiser. However, I personally don't see the point in skirting around Google. Getting yourself ranked well in Google can provide an invaluable boost in traffic that other sites cannot

Google is the best for SE traffic. But still there are lot of ways to get traffic. You can still survive without Google.
