Flash Navigation

Hello everyone!

I am creating a website for my Call of Duty 2 team, creative gaming. I want to make a flashy website using flash of course. Not only flash, but PHP. I am intermediate at PHP and can code a simple website, but I am an absolute noob at flash. I am looking to create a navigation in flash as the one on the top of www.surreal-media.com. Any help would be appreciated!

to create the same effect at the top of the webpage you posted, you don't really need to use flash. You can create the same effect with some slices and a mouseover. The same principles apply to flash for the most part. In Flash it's just an actionscript on mouseover.

I've got a general idea how it works, I have not personally ever done a project that uses that effect. So I can't say for sure. But Here's what I'm thinking. It involves action scripting for an onclick event, and that's what pulls up the submenu. Maybe someone has made a flash component for this already, I don't know. Maybe google flash components and see if you can find one for sale that you can customize, or dig in to some flash tutorials and start playing around. Flash and photoshop are both very in depth software applications that take a lot of time to learn. Unless you are proficient with these programs it's highly unlikely that you are just gonna find a tutorial and whip it up. I highly reccomend checking out flashkit.com for some flash tut's. Hope that points you in the right direction.

Chad

I usually try to avoid flash navigation. Some browsers may not be able to project flash. I know its a new age of high speed computer nerds, but there are some dial up users who have no idea how to install the flash plug in. I would recommend dhtml menus.
