How to create search tool

I'm making my portfolio and i want to add a search tool to my website which i will style after. How do i make a search tool?

Two options: Use a free search engine tool which can be found through searching on other search engines, or use google's version, which looks ugly but if very effective.

Its not really that bad and indexes your website fairly well. It grabs every forum post from my site :P
