I write that post pretty quickly. I have written an article that lists 45 ways to get more traffic to your website, gain more backlinks, etc. The article is here just incase you or others would like to get some tips on how to get more traffic.

If you are selling some product/service then just heavy traffic will not help you rather the traffic should be targetted and should have high conversion rate.
If you are ranking high in Google then you may get targetted traffic so according to me SEO is the best and more reliable souce for targeted traffic.

I think link exchange is good idea too, if it is exchanged with site higher than your pr.
