I really like this effect.

Make a new document and fill it with black.
Then write a text(white) on it.


Rasterize the text layer.


Press (and hold) Ctrl and klick on the text layer to select it.
Press Shift + Ctrl + I(Select > Inverse)
Press Shift + F5(Edit > Fill)


Ctrl + D

Now Selct your Magic Wand Tool.
Hold Shift and klick on every Letter.(So every letter will be selected).


Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur
Radius : 3 px

Filter > Stylize > Solarize

Now Shift + Ctrl + B(Image > Adjustments > Auto Color)

Ctrl + D

It should look like this now.



Filter > Stylize > Wind


1 Edit > Transform > Rotate 90° CW
2 Press Ctrl + F(it will add the Wind Filter again)
3 Now press Shift + Ctrl + T(it wll rotate it again)
4 Wind Filter
5 Rotate
6 Wind Filter
7 Rotate

It can look like this now:



Filter > Stylize > Glowing Edges


Ctrl + U


FINISH!!







You can add another text if you want and you can transform it.
So it could look like this.

Hi, I seem to have some problems with this.

What I want to do is make the AFX greenish and design pink/redish.
Now the thing is I've first tried it like selecting different parts of the text layer but this does not seem to work. then I just made one layer with the AFX and the other one with design, but I can't combine both because one is always blending over the other one. So I either need to hide the AFX or the design layer in order to see either the AFX or the design. I can't get both..
Merging layers does not work either..

Unfortunately I can't attach the .psd file as it is 290 kb big.

Ok hi AFXdesign.

There are some ways but I will show you the(i think)easiest way.

Write the text "AFXdesign"
Make everything normal and add at last the Glowing Edges filter.
Then Press Ctrl + U and choose your Color you want for the "AFX"(the "design" will get the same color, but we'll change that later)

My Colors :


Ok now it can look like this :


Now Select your Lasso Tool.
Feather : about 6 px
and make a "circle" like me.



(Be sure you have selected the layer with the text)
Press Ctrl+U and choose your color




Ctrl + D

FINISH!!!
