The CMS (#9) PHP Penultimate
Ok so this ladies and gentelmen is the penultimate tutorial in our series (second to last)
In this tutorial, we are going to do the template for the main site. This is generally going to be quite complicated, as we have to edit some of the code we allready have. But lets get going! So we are going to make this kinda into a photoshop tutorial as well, i hope you don't mind! Ok, so we need to open up photoshop and create the following document: ![]() Then you need to add a gradient overlay. I have chosen a nice blue theme today, and i have gone with the colours: 59aed5 & 205a7f ![]() Now add your text so i have put: Talk-Mania.com although you can put whatever you want too. I have then applied the following options: ![]() ![]() ![]() So now we have that going on, then we can see our finished logo: ![]() Now we need to slice it. For this we need to slices: 1.) a 1 pixel slice along the far left hand side of our document. 2.) Leave the rest of it. An example is here: ![]() Now we need to save it. SO: ![]() Thats file, then save for web. Then click save: ![]() Then choose a localtion for it to be saved: I would suggest the folder called PixN that you should have if you have downloaded the files from my tutorial. Just save it in the root directory of that (so not in the admin directory, not in the includs directory or anything) Then open it up. There now should be 2 images. You should have 2 files: somthing_01 and somthing_02 The file called: somthing_01 i want you to rename to: headerbg And the main one (the one with your words in) you should re name to: logo Here endeth the first part of this tutorial. I will post the second part just underneath this part in a few hours.

Ok so in the second part of this tutorial we are going to carry on building the images for our site:
Your foreground colour should be: 59aed5 Your background colour should be: 205a7f Right then create a 36 wide by 24 pix high document, and apply a gradient with those 2 colours. should look somthing like this: ![]() Now you need to slice it: Make one slice 34 pix by 24 pix, then 2 more at 1 pixels width each. should look like this: ![]() then do: File > Save for web > Save > Now choose the same location that you saved your other one in. Now go into that folder, and name the big image (the 34 by 24 image) lborder then the 2 smaller images, rborder & bgborder. Note these should all be GIF images. Here endeth the second part of this tutorial. look for PHP tutorial #10 which should be there in the next 10 minutes. Cheers! Base
