Most experts say that if we want to achieve high PR ranking in Google we need to do lots of link creating.

What do you think about this? Is PR ranking really that important?

I disagree with that.

PR has nothing do with your serps (it might have some effects but not much). I have a site which had PR5 a year ago and it hardly get any traffic from google now its PR0 and 80% of the traffic from google and ranks in top10 for many keywords.

To get good Pagerank you need backlinks from high PR pages.

To get top ranking for serps you need a lot of lot of backlinks doesn't matter if the linking page has PR0 or no PR at all. All it matters is the number of links and the anchor text.

Its upto you what you want. Do you want high PR site with no visitors or PR0 site with vistors.

Best way to get backlinks quickly is link baiting. It can be an idea, or article or service or software anything.

Well, Google's ranking is most dependent on in-bound links; unlike Yahoo which is still focused mainly on on page content and meta content.
